OPUSZTASZER, HUNGARY - JUNE 01: An owl struggles to keep his grip as his owl friends look the other way in Tibor Kercz's "Help!!!", on June 1, 2017 in Opusztaszer, Hungary.

PREPARE yourself for some rib-tickling laughter because the Comedy Wildlife Awards has announced its 40 finalists. Founded by Tanzania-based photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam, the aim of the awards is to put a spotlight on wildlife conservation efforts while simultaneously injecting some humour into the world of wildlife photography. Entries this year include a grooving kangaroo, gurning gorilla and a hirsute hare. For more information go to www.comedywildlifephoto.com
